Prioritize integrity over reputation: learnings from R2R via Research Information | 5-minute read

“By recalibrating incentives to prioritize integrity over reputation and revenue, and advocating for education as a key driver of openness and ethical practices, we can better support early-career researchers with a more transparent and trustworthy research environment,” says Hannah Baldwin (Director of Marketing Success at The International Bunch) in this retrospective of the 2025 Researcher to Reader (R2R) Conference. As advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) offer new opportunities for authors, questions about appropriate use of AI and its acknowledgement remain unanswered. In this free webinar, the International Association for Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM) Task and Finish group on AI Labelling Terminology for Research Content Declaration will outline their proposed classification system to support the establishment of publisher policies around AI use and transparent disclosure. Join Joris van Rossum (Program Director of STM Solutions), Kiera McNeice (Research Data Manager at Cambridge University Press), Gabriel Harp (Product Strategy Lead at Oak AI) and Henning Schoenenberger (Vice President, Content Innovation at Springer Nature) on Monday 7 April to find out more.

Open access post-Nelson Memo via NISO

How can the scientific community support open access and data sharing in the face of policy uncertainties? Join David Mellor (Senior Policy Analyst at the Center for Open Science), Sara Rouhi (Director of Open Science and Publishing Innovation at AIP Publishing) and Aaron Tay (Head of Research and Data Services at Singapore Management University) as they discuss the future of open access in a post-Nelson Memo world. This webinar is free for National Information Standards Organization (NISO) members, with concessions for members of the Society for Scholarly Publishing, students and those who are unemployed or retired. Registration closes on 8 April.

PID partnerships: ORCID and ROR better together via Zoom

Persistent identifiers (PIDs) are unique, long-lasting references to people, places and things that connect research outputs and improve discoverability. In this webinar, Amanda French (Technical Community Manager at Research Organization Registry [ROR]) and Tom Demeranville (Director of Product at Open Researcher and Contributor iD [ORCID]) will explore how the two PID infrastructures interact to enhance data quality and trust. Register now to join Amanda and Tom on Wednesday 16 April.
